Tímea Hopp

Hi I’m Tímea Hopp & I design experiences for people.

As a product designer with a background in architecture I bring order and beauty to complex projects and processes. I balance broad vision with an eye for detail and move seamlessly from defining high-level strategic goals to fine-tuning pixel perfect interfaces.

These days you can find me at Studio Rodrigo.

I developed a new product line with Stripe

My Role: Lead Product Designer, Vision

Stripe is a payments infrastructure platform serving a wide variety of businesses ranging from retailers to subscription services to software platforms and marketplaces. Our team at Studio Rodrigo was brought in to develop a new customizable Commerce UI Toolkit which will allow Stripe to move beyond payments into supporting larger swaths of the e-commerce experience.

We worked alongside Stripe’s in-house product team to research and explore areas of unique opportunity for this new product line. We went through to define and design an MVP launch, delivering detailed designs and flows for this area of the experience. Then we worked together to craft a future vision, putting together the narrative and supporting assets to provide the team with a structured vision deck to guide its development moving forward.

I led design on the Engagement and Discovery + Navigation teams at Codecademy

My Role: Senior Product Designer

Codecademy is a learning platform that has helped millions of people learn to code. As the senior designer first on their Discovery + Navigation and then on their Engagement teams, I led a series of ambitious projects to reshape the learning experience during a period of rapid growth. From restructuring the site architecture, to redesigning the course catalog, to launching new product verticals, to supporting the growth of the design, product, and engineering teams by 4x, I had the opportunity to make meaningful impact throughout the product and organization.

I worked on a virtual membership for Betaworks Studios

My Role: Lead Designer (UX / UI / Strategy)

Betaworks Studios is a club for builders based in New York’s Meatpacking District. The studio is a vibrant hub for the tech community offering social spaces, curated events, personal connections, and much more to support growing ventures. I worked with the product and leadership teams to develop a new virtual membership program to expand our reach and bring Betaworks Studios to new members across the globe.

And worked on a lot of other exciting things

As an architect at A+I and OSA, I was part of great teams working with an array of incredible clients to understand their missions, define their future goals, and create the physical spaces to support that vision.

Most of all I love making order out of chaos

My design process begins by building an understanding of people’s wants, needs, and behaviors and then takes those insights forward to create the experiences, tools, services, and spaces that best serve them. I believe in gathering and synthesizing information in order to produce simple and elegant solutions.

I received my Masters of Architecture from The City College of New York and my B.A. in Fine Art and Urban Studies from NYU. In my free time you can find me roaming the world collecting postcards. I’ve been all over and make incredibly detailed spreadsheets not just for work, but also for fun… if you’re ever planning a trip I’ve probably got some recommendations for you!

Please get in touch to learn more, see my work, or just say hi!
